Tenacity
Colorado Plateau, Utah
NANPA 2011 Showcase Winner
My wonderful wife Faith named this image and I think it perfectly fits this scene. Located on the Colorado Plateau of southern Utah, this arid spot has allowed for an 18-foot tall cottonwood tree to grow up in the hole of the rock. Normally, you will not find water in the hole, but I awaited a rare storm-front to get this shot. You'll notice the eye of the storm lines up with the hole to achieve a unique photo. Who is more tenacious, the photographer or the subject?
